Are You in the Box? What do you define as Christianity? Is it the Sunday attire that you spend all your money on? Is Christianity the box for religion that you check on your job application? Is being a Christian your excuse for not being sociable with sinners? Is being a Christian a duty that your practice? Is your Christian experience relegated to your devotionals, prayer times, and your hip music in your car? Is your Christianity a weekend experience that substitutes the club? Is your knowledge of Christ limited to what your pastor preached about? It's amazing that Jesus came to establish a kingdom, a church, a body; and ended up with a religion. I'm glad He isn't limited our failures! We can box up the power of Jesus that can flow through us by relegating Jesus to being a religion. The last thing Jesus was trying to do was start another religion! He was trying to pattern, express, and demonstrate "the way" of living life to the full! Living life to the full is founded upon living that life with God! Being a "Christian" in our society doesn't really make you a "follower of Jesus"! You can be a Christian and protest outside of abortion clinics shouting, "You're going to Hell!", while Jesus meets them before they enter to love them to stop; and even if they don't, He loves them after so they won't return again! It's time to break out of the box of "Religious Christianity"! We need to follow Jesus and do what He did through the power of God's Spirit which has been given to us! You don't have to live in a box! Ask yourself, "Am I doing what I see Jesus doing?" If not, just make a change! James, Jesus' cousin, tells us to "Clean up our lives and change our minds" Maybe it runs in the family! : That's what we need to do. Everyday should be a day where you ask Jesus to show you what He would do, and do that! If you don't know Jesus, we want to help you break out of that box.
