1. WHY DO I NEED JESUS? You need Jesus for the same exact reason that I needed Him, need him, and will always need him. Due to no fault of our own, we were born as sinful creatures. You know that scandalous desire you had to steal your mom's cookie when you were three, that proves you were born with a sinful heart. before we could be taught about stealing, we desired to steal. Before we were modeled lying, we would lie to get out of a problem. We were created with the "sin-gene". Yours might have manifested in many ways. Maybe you're struggle with lying, cheating, having sex outside of marriage, maybe you're proud, maybe it's homosexulaity, maybe you're a butthole to your wife, or take crap from people because you have low self-steem like. Whatever your issue is, be real enough to admit you have an issue! The fact that you have an issue is the reason you need Jesus. He is the only one that can help you live free from those issues. It will take a lot if time to theologically break all the reasons down, but just take my word for it! Jesus is our ANSWER; he is the source of change for all of us who accept it. 2. HOW DO I RECEIVE JESUS? You receive Jesus by just doing that, receiving him. There's not a lot of hoopla that needs to happen. It's not an emotional experience, so don't disqualify yourself because you may not be having one. You simply make a decision to live your life with Jesus being the Lord of your life. That means you allow him to rule, guide, and move in your life according to what He wants to do. If I'm giving you a gift, there's no work you have to do to receive it, you just open YOU'RE hands, and receive it. That's all you have to do. You just have to open your heart, and receive Him. There are a few things you need to know. Jesus came to this earth, over 300 years ago, for the specific reason of living a perfect life (the only human to do that) so he could die as the perfect sacrifice for all humanity. He came to give us an out from that "sin-gene" I talked about. He was executed by a government that was afraid of the change he was bringing, and he allowed this to happen, because he knew he had to do it, to be the perfect sacrifice. He died to pay the eternal price for your "sin-gene". He rose from the dead on the third day, and ascended to heaven to rule with the Father and give us an opportunity to live a life like he did, free from the "sin-gene". If you want to receive Jesus, I want you to pray with me…Dear JESUS; I thank you for your mercy that's extended to me. I believe in you, and I ask you to come into my heart, and be the leader of my life. Show me how to turn my life from sin, and I will follow you. Amen. 3. WHAT DO I DO NOW? Well first, you need to smile because you just made the best decision you could have ever made. You just accepted Jesus into your heart, and I want to welcome you to the family of God. You're at a very important step now. You need to first, get a Bible, and start reading the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Here, you will begin to learn about Jesus and what he did, said, and demonstrated. Secondly, you need to get into a good church, it doesn't matter the size. What is a good church? A good church is a church that believes in the whole Bible, isn't driven by hype, has authentic relationships, and worships the Lord in truth.
